Sah-sah saja jika Maroon 5 sekarang merangkul semangat pop dengan lebih ketat karena tampaknya memang pop-lah yang bisa menjaring pendengar lebih luas. Mendengarkan Payphone, single pertama mereka untuk album keempat mereka, Overexposed, semangat pop-easy listeningyang catchy memang terasa kentara sekali. Apalagi nomor pop ceria ini didukung oleh Wiz Khalifa yang mengimbuhi lirik rap di beberapa bagian. Hasilnya, Payphone adalah sebuah pop yang seru untuk didengarkan. Hadirnya Shellback dan Benny Blanco yang berada di belakang single ini sebagai produser memang menjamin kehadiran elemen elektropop namun syukurlah vokal khas Adam Levine tetap memberi ciri khas Maroon 5. Single dirilis pada tanggal 16 April dan hingga sekarang bercokol di #1 iTunes Single Chart.
