Lady GaGa Bakal Jadi Pembuka VMA

 

Lady GaGa baru saja memastikan bahwa ia akan jadi pembuka acara MTV Video Music Awards yang akan digelar tanggal 28 Agustus nanti. Dalam acara yang sama GaGa juga sempat memamerkan video klip terbarunya, You and I yang konon adalah perwakilan dari dirinya yang sebenarnya.

Menurut Contact Music, setelah sempat jadi rumor akhirnya Lady GaGa memberi kepastian bahwa ia akan jadi atraksi pembuka acara tahunan yang bakal digelar MTV di Nokia Theatre, Los Angeles ini. Kabarnya GaGa juga mengajak fans beratnya untuk membentangkan banner bertuliskan ‘GaGa to open VMAs’ di luar studio MTV di New York Times Square kemarin.

Dalam kesempatan yang sama Lady GaGa juga memamerkan video klip You and I yang baru saja ia rilis. Saat diwawancarai MTV, Lady GaGa berujar kalau ide di balik pembuatan klip ini sebenarnya adalah kejujuran. “I really wanted it to be real, dan aku tahu kalau MTV juga ingin video ini jadi dokumentasi dari hidupku, dan sebagai orang yang hidup di antara kenyataan dan fantasi, begitu juga teman-teman dekat saya,” jelas Lady GaGa saat itu.

Tribute to Britney Spears di MTV VMA ’11 Bakal Super Megah!

 

Perhelatan MTV Video Music Awards 2011 yang akan segera digelar 28 Agustus mendatang sepertinya akan benar-benar meriah. Bagaimana tidak, kalau semua solois wanita akan tampil dalam satu panggung sebagai penghormatan pada Britney Spears!

Walau belum secara resmi diumumkan, beberapa kabar yang ‘bocor’ menyebutkan bahwa akan ada acara tribute khusus untuk Britney, yang akan menerima penghargaan Lifetime Achievement. Dan tak main-main, para penyanyi tenar seperti Madonna, Lady GaGa, Katy Perry dan lainnya akan menyanyikan lagu-lagu populer milik Britney.

Jonathan Woodbeck, produser TV dan sutradara, pun sudah menyatakan bahwa ‘kemungkinan besar’ berita ini akan menjadi kenyataan. “Kalau kabar ini benar (yang memang aku bilang benar), maka tribute untuk Britney di VMA akan benar-benar EPIK!” tulisnya lewat Twitter.

Woodbeck juga ikut membocorkan deretan artis dan lagu yang akan mereka bawakan dalam penampilan medley di malam besar ini. Selena Gomez akan menyanyikan Baby One More Time, Katy Perry tampil dengan Oops! I Did It Again, Janet Jackson dengan I’m A Slave 4 U, dan Demi Lovato menyanyikan Toxic.

Selain itu, Kesha dan Nicki Minaj dikabarkan akan berduet menyanyikan Gimme More, Lady GaGa bakal tampil heboh dengan Circus, yang ditutup dengan Britney sendiri yang menampilkan Hold It Againts Me dan I Wanna Go. Sedangkan, Madonna tak ketinggalan dan akan menyerahkan penghargaan Lifetime Achievement untuk Britney. Super WOW!

Taylor Swift Berjaya di Teen Choice Award 2011

Teen Choice Award yang digelar Minggu (7/8) kemarin sekali lagi mengukuhkan prestasi yang berhasil diraih para musisi muda. Namun, di antar mereka, Taylor Swift-lah yang mendominasi kategori musik ajang penghargaan ini.

Lady Gaga Iklankan MTV VMA 2011

 

Lady Gaga yang masuk dalam empat nominasi di penghargaan MTV Video Music Award (VMA), dimanfaakan panitia untuk muncul dalam iklan promo acara tersebut.
Dalam rekaman video tersebut, Gaga tampil menyeramkan dengan kedua tangan membawa dua elemen darah dan api. Bahkan, di salah satu gambar yang diperoleh dari lokasi syuting, penyanyi eksentrik itu terlihat mengenakan baju hitam-hitam ansambel, dengan menggunakan wig putih panjang serta dan kuku berlumuran berdarah.

MTV Video Music Award sedianya akan dihelat di Nokia Theatre, Los Angeles pada 28 Agustus. Lil Wayne, Adele dan Chris Brown telah dipastikan datang. Sedangkan Presenter dan pengisi acara diperkirakan akan diumumkan dalam beberapa minggu mendatang.

Untuk nominasi kali ini, Katy Perry mendominasi penghargaan dengan memborong 10 nominasi. Termasuk bersaing dengan Gaga dalam kategori baru, Video Terbaik serta Pesan Terbaik.

Siapa Nominator Kategori Baru MTV VMA 2011?

MTV Video Music Awards tahun ini akan terasa istimewa dibandingkan tahun-tahun sebelumnya. Pasalnya ada satu kategori baru yang akan diperebutkan oleh para musisi ternama, yakni Best Video with a Message.

Kategori spesial ini diperuntukkan bagi mereka yang menggunakan video musik mereka untuk menyampaikan pesan-pesan positif atau meningkatkan rasa kemanusiaan tentang isu-isu sosial yang terjadi di kehidupan para pemuda. Dari sekian banyak musisi, terpilihlah 6 jagoan yang akan memperebutkan satu piala untuk kategori ini.

Dan mereka tak lain adalah ‘langganan’ penerima penghargaan di dunia musik, yaitu Lady GaGa, Eminem dan Taylor Swift. Ketiganya juga akan bersaing dengan Pink, Katy Perry dan Rise Against.

GaGa mendapatkan nominasi ini untuk lagunya yang berjudul Born This Way, yang menyampaikan pesan untuk mencintai diri sendiri. Sedangkan Eminem dinominasikan untuk lagu duetnya bersama Rihanna dalam Love the Way You Lie, yang dibintangi Megan Fox, untuk usahanya meningkatkan kepedulian akan kekerasan dalam rumah tangga. Swift dalam lagunya Mean, juga mendapat posisi yang sama karena pesannya tentang ‘bullying’.

Sementara, Pink juga mendapat nominasi untuk video klip F***in Perfect yang menekankan pentingnya kepercayaan diri. Firework oleh Katy Perry juga dianggap memberikan pesan yang baik agar para fans bisa tetap kuat walau sendiri. Rise Against punya tema lain, yang berbicara tentang kebencian dalam Make It Stop (September’s Children).

“Selama beberapa tahun terakhir, kami melihat beberapa musisi menggunakan musik untuk menyampaikan pengalaman personal yang mendalam juga beberapa isu yang memicu kepedulian mereka, sehingga mereka bisa menciptakan sebuah video musik indah yang sejalan dengan apa yang mereka rasakan juga memberikan inspirasi pada fans mereka,” ujar Stephen Friedman, presiden MTV.

MTV Video Music Awards 2011 ini akan digelar tanggal 28 Agustus mendatang, dan dari 14 nominasi yang ada dan baru diumumkan pagi ini (kemarin malam waktu USA), Katy Perry menyabet nominasi terbanyak yaitu 9, diantaranya adalah Best Pop Video, Best Collaboration, Best Direction, Best Special Effects dan tak ketinggalan Video of the Year. Sementara itu, Diva baru dari Inggris yang merajai chart Billboard belakangan ini juga tak ketinggalan, siapa lagi kalo bukan Adele, dengan 7 nominasi untuk “Rolling In the Deep” diataranya untuk Video of the Year, Best Female Video dan Best Pop Video. Para musisi muda sekali lagi berhasil membuktikan prestasi mereka. Dalam Billboard Music Awards yang digelar 22 Mei di MGM Grand Garden Arena di Las Vegas, Taylor Swift dan Justin Bieber menjadi para pemenang yang diumumkan di awal acara.

Diumumkan oleh Matthew Morrison, bintang GLEE, Swift berhasil merebut penghargaan Album Artist of the Year karena album barunya yang ‘ngetop’, Speak Now. “Kehebatan sebuah album ditentukan oleh para fans. Kalian baru saja memberiku satu alasan untuk benar-benar jatuh cinta pada kalian,” ujar Swift ketika menerima pialanya. Piala ini adalah piala kedua yang diterimanya, setelah merebut penghargaan Top Country Album.

Selanjutnya, Justin Bieber diundang naik ke atas panggung untuk menerima piala atas Digital Artist of the Year. ‘Aku ingin berterima kasih pada semuanya yang sudah membantuku keluar dari kampung halaman,” ujar penyanyi asal Kanada ini sambil menyebutkan para fans dan Usher, mentornya. Selain penghargaan ini, Bieber juga menyabet piala untuk Top Social Artist, Top Streaming Artist, Top Digital Artist, Top Pop Album dan Top Streaming Song (Video).
